“Voted Nay on the PW Digital Gateway comprehensive plan amendment, re-designating land along Pageland Lane from agricultural and environmental resource to Technology/Flex”

The originating land-use vote for the PW Digital Gateway. After a marathon hearing the board adopted the comprehensive plan amendment re-designating land along Pageland Lane from Agricultural or Estate and Environmental Resource to Technology/Flex, the change that made the later Digital Gateway data center rezonings possible. Supervisor Angry made the motion and Supervisor Bailey seconded. The official record shows five ayes, two nays, and one supervisor (Candland) absent from the meeting. This vote predates the 2023-2026 window but is included because it is the head of the chain of Prince William Digital Gateway votes that ended with the 2023 rezonings, the 2026 court ruling, and the board's 2026 decision not to appeal. The official record lists supervisors by surname only; Franklin, Wheeler and Lawson are recorded here as the source names them. Outcome: APPROVED 5-2, with one supervisor absent from the meeting. Recorded vote: Nay. Body: Prince William Board of County Supervisors. Measure: CPA2021-00004 (Res. No. 22-508).
