“Did not vote (Excused) on Georgia HB 1192, to suspend new sales tax exemption certificates for high-technology data center equipment”
The Georgia House of Representatives passed HB 1192, which would have suspended the issuance of new certificates of exemption from state sales and use tax for high-technology data center equipment and revised the new-quality-job requirement attached to the exemption, while creating a special commission on data center energy planning. Two of the six "not voting" slots on the official sheet are vacant seats and are not attributed to any member here. Outcome: Passed the House 96-71 on February 27, 2024 (6 not voting, two of them vacant seats; 7 excused). The Senate gave it final passage 29-22 on March 14, 2024, but Gov. Brian Kemp vetoed the bill (Veto V7) on May 7, 2024, so the exemption was never paused. Recorded vote: Excused. Body: Georgia House of Representatives. Measure: GA-2024-HB1192.
